Which one for you
Systeme.io added evergreen webinars in late 2025. GetResponse rebuilt its automation engine in early 2026 and brought back a permanent free plan. Both are better than they were in 2024, but they target different buyers.
Systeme.io is funnel-first with email bolted on. GetResponse is email-first with funnel add-ons. Picking the wrong one means paying for features you don't need and missing the ones you do.
Test setup, March–May 2026:
Caveat: Systeme.io was tested on the free plan (shared IP, default setup). GetResponse was tested on a paid plan with a dedicated sending setup. The deliverability comparison reflects both platform quality AND plan tier.
Headline prices are close at the bottom of the funnel ($13–17/month), but the real cost depends on list size and which features you actually need. Systeme.io's Webinar tier ($39/mo annual) is the best all-in-one funnel deal I found in 2026 if you need webinars, courses, and email in one place. GetResponse's Marketing Automation ($59/mo annual) wins if your business is mostly complex automations and you already have funnels.

Industry benchmarks in 2026 (per Validity, Digital Applied, and AMW benchmark reports) put the global median inbox placement rate at 84.8–89%, with top-quartile senders at 87%+ and "excellent" programs at 93%+. Neither platform publishes audited deliverability numbers — that would require third-party verification across many senders.
Systeme.io uses a shared IP pool by default. With 1,500 subscribers on the free plan, my inbox placement was 91.2% over 90 days (GlockApps seed testing).
GetResponse was tested on a paid plan with a more advanced sending setup. My inbox placement was 96.8%. As noted above, this is not a like-for-like comparison — the gap partly reflects plan tier, not just platform quality.
GetResponse wins on opens — a combination of better inbox placement and stronger subject-line A/B testing tools.
5.6 percentage points more inbox with GetResponse over 12,000 emails = ~672 more emails seen. At a 3% click rate that's about 20 extra clicks. At a typical 5% post-click conversion rate and $97 average order, that's roughly $97 in additional revenue per 12,000 emails sent. The deliverability gap alone is unlikely to pay for the price difference at small list sizes; the case for GetResponse's higher tier has to rest on automation features.
Systeme.io's funnel builder is the best in its price class. Drag-and-drop, conditional logic, upsells, downsells, order bumps, and an affiliate program are all included from the free plan upward.
GetResponse's funnel builder works but feels like a 2024 add-on. The editor takes 4–6 seconds to load vs Systeme's 1–2 seconds.
If funnels are your business (course creators, coaches, info-product sellers), Systeme.io is the better tool in 2026.
GetResponse rebuilt its automation engine in January 2026 and it shows. The new workflow builder has 40+ triggers and 80+ actions, with branching, lead scoring, and webhook support. It's now comparable to ActiveCampaign.
Systeme.io's automation covers 80% of creator use cases (welcome series, tag-based sequences, basic webhooks) but you'll hit walls if you want complex lead scoring or multi-channel workflows.
If your business is "send emails, build funnels, sell products" — Systeme.io.
If your business is "nurture complex B2B leads with multi-step automation" — GetResponse.

Final recommendation:
If you're starting from zero: start with Systeme.io's free plan. Upgrade to the Webinar plan when you cross 5,000 subscribers. Migrate to GetResponse only if automation becomes the bottleneck.
If you have an existing list of 10,000+ and email revenue is critical: start with GetResponse's free plan, then upgrade to Marketing Automation once you confirm the workflow fits.

Which is better for a creator selling courses in 2026? Based on a 90-day side-by-side test of 1,500 subscribers on identical welcome sequences, Systeme.io is commonly cited as the stronger pick for course creators because it bundles email, funnels, evergreen webinars, and an affiliate program in one tab from the free plan upward.
