How the math works
Monthly sends = subscribers × emails sent per subscriber. Opens = sends × open rate; clicks = opens × click-through rate; expected conversions = clicks × conversion rate. Gross monthly revenue = expected conversions × revenue per sale. Net monthly return = gross revenue − the actual monthly email-platform cost you enter. ROI = net monthly return ÷ platform cost; it is shown as not available when cost is zero. Annual figures assume the same month repeats 12 times. The model excludes labor, refunds, taxes, and other costs.
Illustrative scenarios — not benchmarks
5,000 subscribers, 4 emails each/month, 25% open, 3% CTR, 1% conversion, $97/sale, $50 entered monthly cost
Expected monthly conversions: 1.50. Gross revenue: $145.50. Net return: $95.50. ROI: 191%. Annual gross: $1,746; annual net: $1,146, assuming the same month repeats. The $50 cost is an example input, not a quoted plan price.
10,000 subscribers, 4 emails each/month, 20% open, 2% CTR, 0.5% conversion, $297/sale, $50 entered monthly cost
Expected monthly conversions: 0.80. Gross revenue: $237.60. Net return: $187.60. ROI: 375.2%. Annual gross: $2,851.20; annual net: $2,251.20, assuming the same month repeats. These assumptions are examples, not market benchmarks.
